Level 7: The Nature of Spirit
Nature of Spirit is the seventh, and in many ways the most
precious and important level of the entire Seven Levels
of Healing program.
A diagnosis of cancer brings to many people a deep and fearful sense of physical threat and loss of control, followed by a powerful urge to protect and defend a body that is now perceived to be "under siege." It becomes easy to identify, more strongly than ever before, with the physical body as the most significant aspect of existence. At this time a great deal of one's resources, energy, and attention understandably become focused on the body in an effort to repel the invading cancer and regain a sense of control.
While a deepening experience and healing of the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of our humanness is a process that we support with the highest integrity and intention, we believe that there exists another, even more fundamental aspect of our existence -- our spirit -- and the seventh level of The Seven Levels of Healing program is designed to focus upon this.
Spirit is our true nature: timeless, eternal, and dimensionless, the source from which all awareness, all creativity and, ultimately, all healing flows.
The goal of "The Nature of Spirit" is to assist each person to discover this spiritual aspect of themselves, and to bring this into full, ongoing awareness. When what we experience as physical reality is threatened, it is more important than ever before to remember that another part of us is timeless and eternal, and remains strong, healthy, and powerful, no matter what our physical circumstances may be. In recognizing the nature of our spiritual selves, and the incredible mystery of awareness itself, we uncover the source of ultimate love and freedom -- an infinite ocean from which healing can be drawn.
This is priceless knowledge for all human beings, particularly when cancer is present. When a cancer patient knows from direct, personal experience that aspect of the Self that exists no matter what happens to the body, the experience of disease and the treatment process become less frightening, and the potential for healing deepens and expands.
When you know who you are -- all that you are -- fear melts away, your being is filled with acceptance, joy, and love, and the ultimate journey of healing and discovery begins.
